If all registration information and medical forms are complete, another trusted adult may drop off your camper at check-in. It is helpful if you give GKBC this information ahead of time, but not mandatory. We will take the person’s name and number in case items are forgotten or something was missed at check-in.
Staff will not release a camper to someone other than the parent/guardian unless noted during the registration process. If you are unable to pick up your camper, you must notify GKBC ahead of time, providing the authorized individual’s name and phone number so they can be reached if needed. This person will be asked to show a driver’s license or other photo ID before the camper is released.
GKBC is geared towards children 7-11. We are happy to review each circumstance individually to determine if GKBC can accept children outside of this age range. This case-by-case assessment will include our counselor to camper ratio, number of overall campers, the child’s skill level for swimming, and other factors such as if the child has a sibling attending camp.
In case of emergencies, parents/guardians may text or call 715-204-4027 and this will ring directly to our camp directors. Outside of emergencies, we do not anticipate the need for parents to contact campers. Parents may follow us on Facebook to receive updates and see pictures throughout camp.
God’s Kids Bible Camp is staffed and funded by members of Messiah Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, WI. Our camp directors Dwight Gantt and Kitara Mielke will manage day-to-day activities at camp. Many of the counselors and staff have years of experience volunteering at camp and we include a trained professional certified in CPR and First Aid. There will be a certified lifeguard on duty during all swim times and a pastor onsite to provide spiritual leadership.
This is common, but we have a busy schedule planned for our campers with wonderful counselors and staff who will help them feel more comfortable. If our staff feel it would be best for the camper to go home, we will contact parent(s)/guardian to make arrangements. For privacy and safety reasons, we ask that parents do not drop in at camp to see how their camper is doing.
Many of the kids’ belongings wind up in lost and found. It is best that you mark items with your camper’s first initial and last name, if not their full name to help us identify the owner. For those items left behind that we can identify, we will make attempts to reach parents/guardians by phone and email after camp. You may also send an inquiry of lost items to godskidsbiblecamp@gmail.com. Items not claimed by end of August will be donated to a local shelter.
